Picnic at Nancy Berry's House

The August Meeting will be a picnic at Nancy's house including some hot water dyeing. Bring either wool or cellulose fibers/yarn to play with in various dye baths. We will have 5 or 6 pots of different colors going at a time. We'll all share what we know about hot water dyeing and just play.

Fall Workshop

Betsy Blumenthal will join us on October 17th and 18th for a workshop in Lumpy Bumpy Fabrics. The participants will bring their looms pre-warped with locally available yarns using drafts provided by Betsy. We will weave round-robin style during the workshop. There are only 18 slots available. Please let Nancy Berry know ASAP if you want to claim a spot. We will open up enrollment outside of the guild in early September if we have not filled all the slots. The final cost will range between $100 and $150.

The Eleanor Best Collection of Workshops and Handouts

Over the years I have amassed a mountain of reference material that I would like to share with other weavers. Like most weavers who are long gone, I know that these materials and samples are just thrown away by uninterested relatives and friends. The Weaving Indiana Mission

This group has been organized to meet the needs of weavers who can only meet on weekends. Our goal is to promote weaving, especially to beginners, using the resources of the more experienced weavers of the group.

We will use expertise from within the group as much as possible, try to use and evaluate books available within the group's individual resources, and use a hot line as a resource to answer questions or supply information, also making use of the internet for questions and answers.

Membership

Membership to Weaving Indiana is not limited to residents of Indiana. Anyone who is interested in learning to weave or who can contribute weaving knowledge is welcome to join. We meet on the third Saturday of each month (excluding December) at various locations around Indianapolis.

Yearly membership is $5 and starts in January. Members receive The Messenger, an electronic newsletter in PDF format each month with meeting information and weaving samples, and will also have the ability to log in to access more information from our knowledge database at this web site. If you are interested in joining our group, please contact us.

Meeting information will be available at this web site each month, and we invite anyone to attend.
