Weaving Indiana was formed by experienced weavers who wanted to encourage new weavers. The group meets on the third Saturday of each month (except December) at the Fishers, Indiana, public library.
New members are always welcome and we have a yearly membership fee of $5. Membership includes a monthly electronic newletter (PDF) and access to our web site with its growing database of information, ranging from past newsletters, meeting handouts and supplier information. If you would like to have your monthly newsletter delivered through the U.S. post office, we request an additional $6 annually to cover postage.
Our first year focused on the basics of weaving -- threading the loom, plain weave and twill, color, equipment, and fibers. Our second year moved into 2-shuttle weaves. Our 3rd year contained our first Guild project that was exhibited at the 2005 Midwest Weavers Conference. Our 4th year contained our first "scarf exchange" for the winter holidays. This is now our 5th year -- see the 2007 meeting schedule below.
All meetings for 2007 are held at the Fishers Library, 5 Municipal Drive, Fishers, IN, unless otherwise noted. Social hour begins at 9 a.m., and the meeting starts is 10 a.m. and goes until finished. Please check our web site for more up-to-date information.
