Note regarding selling via the Internet:
There have been many scams lately from individuals buying items found on the internet. Someone from a foreign country expresses interest in the item for sale and even sends a Cashier's Check for more than the amount because of the exchange rate or other foreign issues. In return, this person wants you to cash the check, make sure it goes through at the bank, and then asks you to wire the amount over and above the sale price back to him. Unfortunately, his Cashier's Check is counterfeit and the bank only discovers this after you have wired the extra money back to the foreign country. Read more from CBS news or from Wired Magazine.
